Gestickte vs. Gewebte Patches: Was ist der Unterschied?

The quick answer

Choose embroidered patches when you want a classic raised-thread look with strong texture. Choose woven patches when your design has small text, fine lines, gradients, or detailed artwork that needs to stay sharp at a smaller size.

Texture and appearance

Embroidered patches use thicker thread and create a dimensional surface. They feel traditional, premium, and durable, which makes them popular for uniforms, clubs, morale patches, jackets, hats, and workwear.

Woven patches use thinner threads that are woven tightly together. The surface is flatter and smoother, which allows more detail and cleaner edges for small design elements.

Detail and readability

If your logo includes tiny lettering, thin outlines, icons, or a complex illustration, woven patches usually reproduce the artwork more clearly. Embroidery can still look excellent, but very small elements may need to be simplified.

Durability

Both patch types are durable when produced correctly. Embroidered patches are excellent for rugged apparel and outdoor use. Woven patches are also long-lasting, but they are best when the priority is fine visual detail rather than a raised thread texture.

Best uses

  • Use embroidered patches for uniforms, jackets, hats, team apparel, club patches, and bold logos.
  • Use woven patches for detailed logos, small text, fashion branding, sleeve patches, and designs that need crisp edges.
