Start with the cleanest file you have
Vector files such as AI, EPS, SVG, and PDF are ideal because they scale cleanly. High-resolution PNG, JPG, or WebP files can also work if the artwork is large and clear.
Keep small text readable
Very small text is one of the most common patch problems. For embroidered patches, simplify tiny lettering where possible. For detailed text, consider woven or printed patches.
Use strong color contrast
Patches are viewed from a distance, so contrast matters. Dark text on a light background or light text on a dark background usually works better than low-contrast combinations.
Plan the border
A clean border gives your patch structure. Merrowed borders are great for simple shapes. Laser-cut or heat-cut borders are better for custom shapes and detailed outlines.
Proof before production
Global Patches can review your artwork and prepare a production proof. Check spelling, size, colors, border shape, backing, and quantity before approval.
